The upfront mortgage insurance premium (UFMIP) requires a cost of 1.75% of the purchase price. For example, on a $200,000 loan, the cost for UFMIP would be $3,500.
The annual mortgage insurance premium can range from 0.45% to 1.35% of the purchase price of the home. This insurance policy is charged monthly and will be attached to the mortgage of the home. In addition, the premium percent range depends on your loan-to-value ratio and terms.
